MCR Post... sorry it's late!!! stop throwing rocks at me!!! [Monday October 17th, 2005 at 1:25am] [ music | reggie & the full effect-get well soon ] ok so i'm very sorry i didn't get around to posting it when i said i would. work & stuff, it gets pretty crazy around here. especially if i'm lacking sleep. but enough excuses!! on with it! Thursday. alright, i had to work thursday but i also got paid! so i went shopping & bought a new jacket that i ended up wearing to the show. && i got some new chucks, the low ones i've been wanting. ummm a desposible camera, & a new black shurg that i wore to work that night, haha. i think i got off at 10 that night. i don't know, anyway thursday's not that important, so onto... Friday!!! i had it in my head that i wanted us to leave my house at 11:00. but things changed, i wasn't so worried about getting there early when i woke up that morning. i got up at 9:30 & was getting in the shower when carrie called & said she & stephanie were on their way to my house. i was like "oh shit!" because they hate waiting on me while i get ready, they make funny faces & talk about me while i'm in the bathroom, haha. anyway i was blow drying my hair when they got here & low & behold they have a surprize for me. orginally we were suppose to pick ashley up on the way to boutwell, after we went shopping. but nooooo stupid hoe has to ruin it & come to my house because...well....she's a stupid hoe. so she went with us shopping with was bearable. but we had to go by her apartment to get a jacket to wear because she was cold. so by the time we shopped, made pit stops, it was around 2:15 when we got to boutwell. there were like 15ish kids there, so i was fine. we sat down & eventually the guys came out & put up the rails, so we all formed a "real" line. we met these two girls, natalie, & umm miranda, yeah that was her name. they were really cool. i can't remember where they were from...georgia i think. anyway they had this fanbook they had made for the guys & they got a bunch of people to sign it, including me. yeah, it was pretty cool. then natalie somehow met up with this guy dressed up as gerard, it was pretty funny. his name was derrick. i remember him saying "i just hope he see's me" ( "he" meaning gerard) & i just thought it was such a fangirl thing to say. haha. i was cracking up, i couldn't even look at him when he said it. (that was when we were waiting for them to let us in like, 6:00ish) so i managed to sneak my camera in, after i was literally patted down. i felt so used!! & it was a woman! so i felt dirrrty, it wasn't even enjoyable. haha! anyway, yeah. they said "don't run!!" we freaking ran. me & carrie were laughing the whole way. i don't know were stephanie & ashley were at this point, all i was thinking about was getting in the front. which i did. front & freaking center. i couldn't believe it. now i just had to manage to stay there all night long. the girls ended up in the second row behind me. they were getting pushed away because they didnt have anything to hold on to. so we got seperated. the last time i saw them was before reggie & the full effect even came on. it was already that bad. people were shoving, it got pretty bad. you guys have to remember this was my first "rock show". i'd seen the concerts on mtv, that mcr had done & i knew it was going to be rough, but i had no idea. haha. i didn't expect to get seperated from my friends, & having to experience one of the most memorable nights of my  life with strangers surrounding me. but none of that matter once the show started. i remember telling carrie that i wasn't moving from my spot, when she said something about going & sitting in the seats. i remember i kept telling myself there was no way i was moving from that spot. it was the one place everyone wanted to be standing, & i was there. of course i now realize it probably wasn't my smartest decison to pick that particular spot. but oh well, i fought like crazy trying to keep it. & i managed to keep it all the way through alkaline trio's set. by the time mcr came on  i was right in front of frank. which was fine, i just couldnt believe i was actually seeing these amazing guys in person. but i'm gettting ahead of myself....i have to give my reviews of reggie & alkaline trio. .Reggie and the Full Effect. these guys really got the crowd going, the crowd loved them! i hadn't heard too much of these guys, the only song i knew was get well soon. but was really impressed with them, they had tons of energy! & the lead singer was pretty funny. i got some pictures of them, & a few crazy ones of the guitarist. haha. he was crazy with his guitar. i couldn't tell you all the songs they played, i tried to catch the setlist they threw but i couldn't get it. but i can now say that i'm a reggie fan, i've downloaded a ton of their songs & eventually when i get the $$ i'm getting their album. Alkaline Trio! words can't explain the greatness of matt skiba. he is a god. the intensity, its just amazing. & alkaline fans are insane!! but so much fun. these guys really got to me, i already liked them, but seeing them just boosted them to my top 5 favorite bands. i remember watching matt during one song & he was smiling at the crowd & you could just tell that he loved doing what he does, & it's what he's suppose to be doing. i can't explain it... but when i saw his expression, it was humbling. & it felt really good to be apart of that crowd. i think about three people landed on my head during their set, haha. i almost lost my glasses one time. right at the end is when one person fell on me & the security guards were like "duck!" so i, of course ducked, & when i looked back up i saw matt skiba run in front of me. he had jumped down from the stage & ran right in front of me. by the time i realized it was him, he was gone, it was pretty crazy. i heard a guy say "i touched him!" haha it was funny. i remember when they first came on i had been talking to this guy beside me & he was there for them & when matt skiba first came on stage he looked right at me, & i almost turned to the guy & said "matt skiba just looked at me" but i stopped myself, haha. anyway, these guys are so great & i hope i get the chance to see them again. & they played sadie, i almost died. & they played we've had enough, i was screaming the words so loudddd. oh &&& i got their setlist!! its now hanging on my wall, beside other various tokens from that night. here it is... back to hell we've had enough maybe i'll catch fire mercy me private eye fatally yours she took him... settle for satin dethbed sadie time to waste this could be love they way i got the setlist is kinda funny. this guy that had been standing behind me somehow weaseled his way beside me, well when the lights came on he spotted some picks matt skiba had dropped, there were two. he motions for one of the security guards to come over & hand them to him, i asked him if i could have one, but the security guard only gave him one so he shoves this crumbled up paper towards me & asks if i want it, & its alkaline trio's setlist, so i was like "yeahh!".  it was  pretty nice of him, we talked on & off til mcr came on, then he got out i think. *My Chemical Romance* while they were setting the stage up they played jay z. & it was awesome. it was so funny....everybody singing along to 99 problems was classic. it didn't take too long for them to set up, the lights went off & i almost pee'd my pants. i couldn't believe i was there & about to see this band that i'd been obsessing over all year. from where i was standing i could see gerard & ray waiting to come on stage, gerard was jumping around & he like pushed ray. OH! i forgot, bob came out to look at the crowd before reggie & the full effect came on, & like nobody noticed him. i was watching him & i think he noticed me because he kept looking at me, or in my general area, & he eventually started waving this guy he was standing beside's hand. i felt kind of stupid for just staring, i was embaressed. so i gave like a half wave, arm strech thing haha. i couldn't help it i was star-struck! anyway, they came out & i couldn't believe it. any self respect i had left went flying out the window. i forgot everything & danced. well as much dancing as you can do pushed up against the baricade. i can't remember what songs they played, or in what order. i do believe that they played all of three cheers, & i remember they played, honey this mirror... & our lady of sorrows,  they did the cover of astro zombies, & the new song shut up & play(which i think now has a new name), which i loved. i dont understand what people have been complaining about, its a good song, & it gets me excited about a new album. what happened to supporting them? people are idiots sometimes. anyway enough ranting about that. they also played headfist for halos.....& i can't remember what else right now. i waited too long to do this. i've forgotten stuff. gerard did his usual crotch grabbing & ass slapping which was funny to actually get to see in person. i remember at one point he like stradled mikey & "waycest" poped in my head. i laughed out loud. nobody noticed. anyway i haven't tracked down a set list yet, but i will....one day. i'm trying to remember all the geetard-ed moments. he did the grandma thing where he told everyone one to look up & say "hi grandma", it was a bit creepy, but funny. i have to admit i was one of the idiots that did it. i couldnt help it, he had total command over me. when he said "jump" i fucking jumped. & it was like that with the whole crowd, he had all us in the palm of his hand. it was so surreal.  i still can't believe that night happened.  & yes gerard looked at me & i could have melted on the spot. we made eye contact a few times, lame as it is to be like "ohmygod he looked at me!".  but yeah , it was like an acknowledgment, & it felt good. it was hard to get frank's attention though, i eventually did,  & he looked up & did a kind of smile because i kept pointing at him & singing along to whatever song they were playing. & mikey came up to the front a lot &  he would he looked at me & when i would bring my camera up to take a picture,  he would back up, but i got a few good ones of him. when i get the money to go back & get a disk of the pictures i will so i can post them. i got them develeloped like the next day on saturday, they turned out pretty got for a desposible camera. they ended with the encore of i'm not okay & the confetti bomb. it was pretty awesome. after that it was chaos. i had wanted to stick around & try to get the setlist but i forgot about it & i left to try & find carrie & stephanie & ashley.  luckily i had stephanies nextel with me so i beeped carrie & found out they were outside in the car so i went to the merch table got a poster & a shirt then headed outside to find them. i spotted them pretty quickly & i got in the car. stephanie had gotten some killer headache so they had missed a lot of mcr's set, i still don't know what all they actually got to see. (*carrie you should really post your experience on here) i found out that ashley had left at like 8:00 because she felt sick or some bullshit. she called her boyfriend to come get her. how lame. she is now banned from ever going somewhere fun with us. she's a drag anyway. but since stephanie was sick we didnt stick around to try & meet the guys, we had found out where their tour bus was, natalie & miranda told me where it was. i read on some other girls post in chemicalromance that it was like 5am when they came out & met fans, so i doubt we would have stayed anyway. but i can't complain, that night was awesome. that's all i can remember right now, if you've got any questions i'll try & answer them. this thing is pretty long so i'm going to end it. thanks if you actually read all that! **real post coming soon, i'm not saying when though! oh & i got my poster & my copy of interlude magazine with mcr on the cover, anyone else get it? its soooo awesome i love it! if you don't have it you should get it! www.interlude-magazine.com sorry for the lj cut, lackness. it's late, i'm tired.   16 >> reply >> edit
